T. E. Lawrence to W. A. Knowles

22.11.30

Dear Knowles

I've wanted to get up for the last three weeks, but have been
prevented.

How goes the garage? Not going to be an eyesore, I hope? Mother told me you had all the concreting done before the weather turned bad, so I suppose that will have set well. Good.

The book-case by the fire is point No 2: and point No 3 (which will not wait) is a moving forest of rhododendron trees coming upon you from Derbyshire (rail to Wool, I think) for planting in the neighbourhood of the cottage. Will you find some plant-wise man and make him put them in at the likeliest places. I understand they are the latest Tibetan and Chinese trees of all sorts of shapes and colours!

Yours ever

T E S

If any varmints are at home, offer them my regards, please!
