T. E. Lawrence to Bruce Rogers

3/8/30

Dear B. R.

I have been working against great difficulties lately.

XIV is finished and XV is ready for fair-copy: and that is all. I am so sorry: but having begun trying to do it very well I feel that it would be dishonest now to spare pains upon it.

Alas and alack! I am not going to be really proud of my Odyssey. It shall remain illegitimate.

I hope Mrs. B.R. gains strength. I may see you next month for an hour or two.

Yours

T.E.S.
