T. E. Lawrence to Bruce Rogers

23/V/29

Dear B. R.

Very well. I understand, and shall complete the translation as well as I can do it, and (if possible) by April next year. Only they put extra jobs on me here, one after the other, and so I have little spare time. I have not done anything since I wrote you that letter trying to get off the business. You will have understood, of course, that I fully realised I was on contract.

The weather has closed down again, and so my hope of dashing over to Daneway, one week-end, is again damped. There must be enough hot weather to make me feel safe and comfortable, before I try that. Please tell E.W. that it is a pleasure I look forward to.

Yours

T E Shaw
