This is my usual quarter-minute scrawl. Came back from Cornwall on Friday. Found your Poetry. V. many thanks. Have glanced at it only, which isn't yet worth telling you. V. busy. Saw Winston yesterday. He will, let me go after Tuesday which is his speech-night in the House on the Colonial Office vote. I'll be kept here some time after that: because my Mother has been ill abroad and is coming here, perhaps on Thursday, to see a doctor. I must take their rooms and meet them. Otherwise I'd have liked to go down W. with you. As I'm almost a free-agent (waiting for the last batch of sheets of my Arab book) we'll be able to meet now. Thank the Lord for Winston coming round at last. I did so want not to quarrel with him. He's a most decent person.
